Does a companion doll need any assembly? There are a lot of first time customers asking us this question.The answer is Yes and No. No, because most parts are assembled already. When we ship, you will pretty much get a whole doll like below. Yes, because the only parts you need to put on are the head and the wig.
Why do we have to do it this way? First, it’s because the head is usually cast separately from the body. Also, it gives customers a chance to change to a different face if they prefer. However, sometimes, putting a head on could be tricky. In this blog, we will go over all details about different types of neck connectors for companion love dolls. You can also learn the pros and cons for each type. We will also introduce our latest 180-degree connector.
1. M16 standard neck connector:
It’s pretty much a regular screw threaded on both ends.
Pros: This type of connector is compatible with most regular dolls.
Cons: it could be tricky to install since you have to twist it on both ends.
Tips: There are some customers that came back to us after they received the doll. The problem they had was when they twisted the head all the way, the head didn’t face exactly forward. However, when the head faced forward, the connector was not tight enough to hold the head. Is it a defect? No, but it’s a limitation.
If it happens, simply refer to the user manual you received. You can put a small piece of paper or even an M16 or 5/8″ washer (fiber, rubber or metal) between head and the neck. It will help to position the connector correctly.
2. Clickable connector or quick connector:
Compared to the traditional M16 connector, the clickable one has thread on only one end which means you only need to screw it in the neck or the head. When you put the head on, it’s literally just one-click.
The snugness of the connector can be adjusted by the small Allen screws on the side. If you need to adjust it, make sure the screw is flush with the connector.
Pros: It’s much easier and more convenient in terms of a companion love doll head installation.
Cons: The head can be twisted 360 degrees. You can imagine how weird when a companion doll looks backwards.

3. AI doll head connector:
A lot of customers ask us this question when they purchase our AI dolls. Can I put a regular head or my existing doll heads on an AI doll’s body? By default, the answer is no since the AI doll has a completely different neck connector. Why? Because the AI head can move around when she is talking so the mechanical parts are different.
But what if I want to have a different face for my AI doll? You can simply contact us when you purchase the AI doll. We can put a special connector onto a regular doll head so it will be compatible with the AI doll’s neck connector. Even though the regular head cannot talk, at least the head can move.
Pros: More robotic and more realistic
Cons: More expensive and not compatible with most other regular connectors
4. New 180 degree articulated neck connector:
It’s another revolutionary innovation in the sex doll industry. Currently, it’s available for most of our customizable Cutie and Classic doll collections. Why is it big?
Pros: It can make sure the head can be twisted only for 90 degrees on each side. More like a human being. When you twist the head, the connector won’t losen.
Cons: It’s not compatible with the regular connector by default. It needs to have an adapter installed.
